I'm Maddie, a web designer with over 10 years' experience in helping small business owners create homes for their businesses on the internet. I'm passionate about handcrafted things, sustainability, and balancing high- and low-tech living.
How I work:
I do things a little differently around here. You won't find Pinterest trends, sales-speak, or AI-churned copy (any em dash you see was actually put there by me). My vision for Heliorae is to get us back to the era when a website was a place to let the heart and soul of your business shine. A place uniquely yours, and as recognizable as you are. A place for your community to find you.
Everything gets automated nowadays, and while some things may get more convenient, we lose the human element along the way. This is why I don't outsource any part of my process—and why I only work with one client at a time. I know firsthand that a business takes blood, sweat, and tears, and I want to learn what makes you and your business tick so that your home on the web embodies it properly.
Why "Heliorae"?
Heliorae (helio ⋅ rae) is a combination of hēlios, from the Greek word for "sun", and my middle name, Rae (also a convenient play on "ray"). The result expresses my belief that I am here to be your business' personal ray of sunshine—the one that bursts through the clouds and highlights things that often get overlooked.
